Card making

Here in Canberra we have had a week or so of lovely spring weather. I'm taking the blankets off the beds ( perhaps prematurely) we are letting the fire die during the day and wearing less layers. These kinds of days have me bursting with energy and my thoughts turn towards home and nurturing.
Yesterday I had an overwhelming desire to create with my hands, not with my beloved sewing machine. I thought of knitting, crochet, hand sewing ... none held quite the right appeal factor. Then I finally realised it was paper and stamps that would meet my need.

I intentionally went to a box of stamps that I have not opened for quite a while and is it ant surprise that it was this rustic beautiful house with a love heart embedded in its door that called out to be inked? The house stamp is a Magnolia image if I recall correctly, and I would have had it since about 2007 I guess, back in their early days of production. I teamed it with sentiment, grass, flowers and heart from the Papertrey Ink love lives here set and added some tiny Kaiser pearls to the flower centres. I coloured select areas with my Derwent pencils. Keeping it very simple and certainly made with love. :)

In hindsight it is interesting that my design reflects so many elements of my current thought patterns..
