In the lead up to Christmas I was busy, busy, busy crocheting!
I completed two large cushions as gifts and also had some fun with these decorations.
I purchased the glittered baubles from Myer and pinned Attic 24 triple layer crochet flowers to the top, after removing the existing hang mechanism. I love how these turned out, The blue one is mine and I made the green one to send to Kate as a part of our Christmas swap.
I swapped out the pearl head pin in the above image for this pretty decorative brad.
I made this cover which I also put over a glass Bauble from Myer, it went to Kate and was made using a crochet Geek you tube tutorial.
I had a lot of fun making this tree decoration from a series of joined pincushions. I took the basic idea for this from Jules at little woolie and added my own topper and embellishments. This was made for Kate and popped in with her swap goodies too.
I glued pearl head pins in place, added felt flowers, silver cord and pom pom trim too. The topper is made with various buttons and felt flowers stacked and glued then secured with a decorative pin. My pin cushions are stacked upside down as these colour variations looked more appealing to me :)
In November and December I feel that my crochet knowledge and skills improved a lot. I'll share my completed cushions in another post.
Did you do much hand crafting in the lead up to Christmas? I'd love to see what you have made.
Wishing all of my lovely readers a prosperous 2013.
