Let me tell you about my Oven.

If you have been reading my blog for a long time you will undoubtedly remember my new oven from late 2009. I was in the thick of my learning to bake bread phase when it happened, we were weeks without an oven . So when we came here and I saw this ... I was disappointed. My old oven was the one thing I would really miss, mind you it was not without fault and with use I ended up thinking those telescopic slides were a pain in the butt. The grills were extremely hard to clean and it was a loathed job. I still loved my oven. In my mind updating the oven/stove in our new home was a first order of business. Baking is so much a part of my week. I have cooked on Gas cook tops for so very many years, adjusting to the old electric coils took some work but I think I have mastered it. I was dismayed the first time I tried to make cookies to find my cookie sheets would not fit inside the oven cavity, so I adjusted to using the one small cookie sheet that was in the oven. Then

Crochet Hexagon Blanket - Update

Last Month I got the itch to go back and do some more work on this Blanket. I ordered the rest of the yarn I think I will need to finish it and started working up little hexagons. I created a half hexagon to fill the gaps on 2 of the sides. I've yet to work out how to fill the triangular spaces on the other sides, I'm not making all of my sides flat yet. I still need to add some size, it almost fits across my bed now, I think two more lengthwise rows will make it a nice size for a topper and two or three rows added to the length should finish it. plan to do a simple border of some sort but haven't thought too much about that yet. While I do love this project, I feel my interest waning again. Though I have no doubt it will be my 'go to' project once winter hits. It's lovely to have over my lap as I work on it. Duck Egg Blue

We painted a wall in the bedroom too! After - Dulux Duck Egg Blue We had to as it had a big tan-ish test colour patch on it as well as the discolouration from a large framed picture I showed you earlier in the year. When I just went looking for these before pictures I was slightly horrified to see they were taken in Jan! Has it really been a whole year?? Well, as the camera doesn't lie yes it has been that long. Before Our original plan was to do a Tan feature wall in a cream/white room. The walls and ceiling have always been pale blue and as we are robbed of time to go with our original plan we opted for a deeper shade of blue for the feature wall as seen in the top image. Its Dulux Duck Egg Blue. A very Pretty blue, ever so slightly grey shade.
