On My Mind - The passage of Time

This is a Friday photo feature that anyone with a blog can join. To take part, post a photo on your own blog, write a short caption explaining it, and link it back to DOWN TO EARTH: On my mind ... and say you're part of "On my mind". Please write a new post, don't link to an older one. When you've done that, go back and add a comment, with a link to your blog.

As We get well into August and I sit wonder how 2011 has sped by so quickly its the passage of time that is On my mind. As My Eldest starts sleeping in a loft bunk and working at a big desk, as the Nasty Cold that affected the whole family now hits me quite hard and as Winter is unfolding into Spring right before my eyes.
This quote rattles loudly in my head.

The days are long but the years are short.

I hope you find some sunshine in your day today.

  1. I used to think the days were long, now, like the years, they're too short. Tammy, I find sunshine whenever I visit here.

I hope you feel better soon

  2. An elderly man once said to me, "When Christmas feels like it's coming around as often as weekends used to, you know you are getting old."

  4. Time flies indeed, Tammy. Seems the older I get the faster it goes...how can it be Friday again already?

Warm and sunny here today, hope you all shake off your colds very quickly,

  6. Nasty cold got me this week too, sympathy a plenty to you. Coming out the other side and getting to a wellness high - that feeling when you're so grateful to feel normal again. Think having kids really ramped up life's speed - perhaps a little extra velocity for each one. Love Rose's quote - it feels fast now - your 80s must feel like a dizzy blur.

  7. I can agree with that quote! My Grandma used to say ... " Today is soon yesterday and tomorrow never comes". I think she was right.
