First Frost

I woke up this morning to feel a distinct chill in the air, one I haven't felt here yet. 

I wondered if the fire had gone out ... or could there have been ... our first frost.

I saw it on the grass out the back door  Brrr.

This caught my eye on the way out later this morning.

*edit* at around 12pm I realised this is not actually frost. I don't know what it is though.

By the time I had opportunity to photograph the grass the sun had melted it all away, doesn't it all look so fresh.

and of course after a frost the sky today is clear and glorious! 

 The wind is fresh and I'll be line drying washing :)
