Beef Curry recipe

I'm not someone who is accustomed to cooking with Curry. Typically I buy a jar of sauce and eat a curry meal when I am home alone ( not often ) as no one else here eats it.
I saw what seemed to be an easy yummy sounding recipe on best recipes and decided to give it a go, about 1 minute into the process I realised I had made and error as it called for Curry paste mixed with water and I was using Curry powder.
I decided to wing it based on the original recipe and its comments.

So here is my Beef curry from Scratch.

Mix 2tbsp Curry powder with 3 tbsp water to form a loose paste.
Sauté 1/2 to whole onion in some oil in a heavy based pan.
After about 5 mins when your onion is soft and cooked add the paste and give it a stir.
Then add 2 tbsp plain yoghurt and your meat ( I used about 500g Gravy Beef )
Mix it all up. At this point you may want to add about 1/2 cup water depending on how saucy you want it.
Cook for about 1/2 hour then add about 250ml ( or more ) tomato product. I used pureed tomato I had frozen, planned to use for soup.
Cook for another 1/2 hour on med /high heat, reduce the liquid through the cooking process.
Then add another 2 Tbsp plain yoghurt and water as desired finish cooking last 1/2 hour with lid on.
Stir frequently throughout the cooking process.

Serve with rice or potatoes and you could most certainly add vegies into this one also.
Enjoy!
