Here is my current WIP.
Totally different to my original idea of Satchel, totally inspired by the bag it replaces ... seen here behind. The paper version serves it purpose well but its getting a little ratty and is un necessarily deep.
I just have to work out the handle placement and attach them, my mind is ticking over with options so I just need to settle on one. LOL
I plan to use it to carry my knitting, I travel on busses a lot.
It also fits my current crochet project and reading material nicely too.
For what I am doing now its a perfect fit and it would also hold my embroidery floss cases and a small hoop nicely ... if ... when ... I start embroidery again.
Its soft sided in contrast to its boxy shape and that poses no inconvenience and perhaps works to an advantage as it folds over on itself when sitting in the cupboard at work or floor at home so my work isn't gathering dust.
I see a lot more bags in my future and a growing stash of stabiliser options too.
For more creative spaces pop over to Kirstys.

I rather like the fabric you have chosen for the bag. It is very summer. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute bag..Can't beat the functionality of it...I have yet to brave the transporation of my crochet projects. Maybe a bag like this would do the trick :P
ReplyDeleteHey Tammy, your bag looks wonderful. It'll be such a great summer accesory. I am having computer issues, is there any way u could post my link into Kirsty's grid 4 me? Thanks heaps. X

ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful bright and cheery fabric, I like the way the black contrasts with the colours. Super summer tote.
ReplyDeleteLooks fabulous Tammy. 'Tis the season for swapping knitting for embroidery you know. Isn't it great to be able to use your transport (and any other waiting) time for creativity?! I'm infatuated with the idea of making bags but I've yet to dive in and try one. The colours on this one are fantastic - perfect for the cheery weather ahead. xxx
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't be possible to go past that bag and not feel like delving into it to create something - it is terrific. Peta (loving your knitting too)
ReplyDeleteLovely bag Tammy, I would love to go on a big bus ride with you, I will bring some crochet too and ask you questions about breadmaking...

ReplyDeletefab fabric. What a great size for keeping all those essential crafty things whilst you're on the move :)
ReplyDeleteHow cool that your fancy bag was inspired by a paper bag. And that it is just what you need. Possibly the perfect bag!! If you can't decide on the handles, are two options possible???....
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun, happy bag. I store my knitting in a bag too and I love the fact that I can pick it up and bring it along with me wherever I go.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely fabric. I also like the fact it is soft instead of stiff, very practical as well as pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in your bags. It's such happy fabric. Much prettier than the paper bag :)
ReplyDeleteGreat functional bag. i love the idea of having projects and reading material always at the ready.
