I made a skirt!

A really simple little style for my girl! The fabric I used is from the Hello Tokyo range by Lisa Tilse, I saw this range in my local hobbysew and had another print in mind for my girl but when we went in together for a look this is what we decided on, and I'm really pleased with its gorgeous summer colour palette.

I kept the constriction simple and not too 'twirly' as to let this print shine. I used French seams and hemmed a wide hem by hand. A perfect super easy style for lazing away holidays and doing things that little girls enjoy.

Holidays have started now and I'm looking forward to some crafty, fun, relaxing days with my kiddos and we have a few things planned but will be mainly taking it easy, the third term of School was jam packed for us and a restful time is in order before we head back and the 'silly' season starts.

Here s my beautiful model, we might be seeing a bit more of her dancing around in new mummy made clothes this Summer. I have fabric washed and hanging on my line now, its earmarked as a skirt for my friends little girl, at almost 3 she is just discovering the joy of skirts! My Miss has requested a top to go with her new skirt. Stay tuned.

  2. Lovely skirt, and a beautiful model too. I wish I had a pretty girl like that to sew for :) I hear you on the quiet holidays... so important to give the kids a deep breath and just unwind. Doesn't hurt for us Mums either!
