Plum Jam

Lovely Tangy home made jam.
I made it yesterday with fruit I had frozen earlier in the year. This is mainly yellow fleshed plums with a few red ones thrown in ( if I recall correctly - it wasn't labelled )

Plum Jam
I set myself up for success this time and had a much nicer experience than my last jam making attempt. Experience definitely played into it too and my funnel was a much appreciated addition. I will label the jars with the name and date an pop them in the cupboard later today now they have all sealed nicely.

I had it on Toast for breakfast today. :)

  1. Oh Tammy...Congratulations on making your Plum Jam....it's so rewarding being able to spread home-made jam on your toast. Not to mention adding to your stockpile.
    Well done. Enjoy your jam.

  4. @Tanya The jars I use are Mason/Ball wide mouth can or freeze preserving jars. I also use these to freeze vege stock. I got them online from the redback trading co.

  5. Yum! We've almost finished our supply of last summers plum jam. It has a nice tang to it doesn't it? When you start making jam you don't go back to shop bought.

  6. all the strawberries i'd frozen for the same purpose have slowly gone into smoothies instead! probably because i bought a jam thermometer so i could do it properly this time LOL!!

  7. Hi Tammy, I have been reading a jams and preserving book this week. I am building the courage to try for the first time. My grandpa used to make homemade jams and preserves all the time so I know how much nicer they are. Yours looks yum !
