Something a bit different.

I have been tidying up the garden at the front of our house and will eventually make it to the side that is being over run with honeysuckle and ground covers, there is a shrub in the side garden that had a lot of old dead wood on it so as I pulled all the dead bit's off and was piling them up I started thinking how lovely, straight and uniform the width and roundness of the branches were .... Hmmm ... what can I make with this?

I cut one long branch into similarly sized lengths and bound them by weaving kitchen cotton through.

Then I glued two smaller lengths of branch to the underside, securing the cotton and holding it all together. Some of the glue seeped through to the front, most of it peeled off but it still has a few shiny patches on it.

When I saw it on the ledge of my laundry tub as I put the washing in the machine this morning it made me smile to see something so simple, functional and rustically beautiful sitting there.

**I moved this post as I'm linking to it for My Creative Space, it seems to be the most creative thing I have recently done. For More spaces pop on over and visit Kirsty.
